In 2017, MCN invested nearly $50 million to build The Okemah Creek Nation Community Hospital, which opened in March of 2018. We operate two Indian-owned hospitals in Oklahoma that serve both Indian and non-Indian patients.
This state-of-the-art facility provides critical community safety net services including Emergency, Lab, X-Ray, Inpatient and Surgery services, as well as an Outpatient Specialty Clinic. It is a landmark for the Nation as it replaces the previous community hospital, which was purchased by the MCN in 1977 as the first tribally-owned hospital in Oklahoma through the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act and through partnership with Okfuskee County.
